The Lighthouse Court Café & Bar is located poolside in the Lighthouse Court Hotel next to the Lighthouse Museum and the Hemingway House in Key West. It is open throughout the year and provides the perfect solution for those who want to have a few drinks or a quick lunch without moving too far from the sunshine and their chaise lounges! Near the pool bar, you will also find a hammock under the shade of a majestic ficus tree for lazy reading or taking a nap.

Green Flash

Our Green Flash Cocktail is inspired by the natural phenomenon you may get to see at a sunrise or sunset on our beautiful Key West island. The green flashes occur usually for no more than a second or two and if you get to see them you will agree that our green flash goes down as beautifully as the sunset.

Adalina’s Key Lime Margarita

There are many claims to the invention of the Margarita, but ours was created by Adalina de la Trini, her stage name, who was a frequent guest at Lighthouse Court in the mid 1970’s. Adalina wanted to add a twist to the classic recipe. Come taste ours and see if you know what she added.

The festival’s main event is to involve a re-created engagement between land forces and blockade runners attempting to escape. Plans call for re-enactors portraying Union and Confederate troops to board historic Key West schooners to do battle in Key West Harbor just offshore. During the fray, a blockade runner is to be captured, followed by the trial of the vessel’s captain based on an actual 1862 court case.  For participation information please call 305-292-6850.

The 46th Old Island Days Art Festival will be held February 26th & 27th. This highly acclaimed, juried, fine art  event takes place from 10 to 5 both days in Key West’s historic Old Town district. This year artists will feature oil paintings, watercolors, sculpture, photography and other offerings by artists from around the United States.

Booths will line Whitehead Street, meander onto Caroline Street and lead through the historic Presidential Gates into the beautiful, tree lined community know as Truman Annex.  Admission to the two-day show is free. We have been going to the show for years and inevitably we buy several wonderful new pieces for both ourselves and the hotels! Come join us and take home some Key West flair for yourselves.

International Sailing Regatta ~ January 17th – 21st

Sailboats and crews from around the world will compete in the regatta, this year presented by Nautica. The race features world-class competition and yachting teams from more than 12 countries and 24 American states. Courses are set over an 8-mile stretch of the Atlantic Ocean just off Key West’s south shore and inside the continental United States’ only living coral barrier reef. To view the action, fans can book seats on spectator boats ranging from excursion catamarans to historic tall ships. And in the evening you can rub shoulders with the world’s best sailors all around Key West.

Historic Lighted Inn Tours — December 17th & 18th

The innkeepers have decorated their properties, wine has been delivered and some of Key West’s top restaurants will be serving appetizers starting at 5:30. All of this is included in the $25 admission! The inns will open to the public from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and are within easy walking distance of each other.

Holiday Lighted Bicycle Tour — December 22nd

In a town where the preferred mode of transportation is by bike, it is a perfect place to show off the holiday’s tinsel and lights. From 6-8 p.m., the route takes participants past many of the showiest holiday displays on homes throughout the island. Participants are asked to gather at Bayview Park near the gazebo, equipped with water, light and a helmet. Children 16 and under are required to wear helmets. The tour ends at the Conch Republic Seafood Company with a raffle and prizes.

Key West Holiday Parade — December 4th

Our annual Holiday Parade is small-town charm at it’s best. Come enjoy our high school marching band, civic and social clubs, local politicians, veterans, and community volunteers as they show off their Key West pride and holiday spirit. The parade route follows Truman Avenue past  Key Lime Inn and Chelsea House and then makes the turn down Duval Street. The best viewing is from the sidewalk along Truman Avenue in front of our inns. We will be serving spiced cider at Chelsea House during the parade. The public is invited and it’s all free.

Key West Lighted Boat Parade – December 11th

Deck the hulls with festively decorated boats as they cruise through Key West Harbor and the Historic Seaport. This magical movement of color through the waters is a wonderful tribute to Key West’s maritime history, and its a lot of fun too. There is good parade viewing all along the waterfront at the Seaport, Simonton Street beach, and Mallory Square.  You can walk to good viewing from all of the Historic Key West Inns. This is a free event.

Momentarily airborne at 100mph, then landing with a resounding thump, you can hear and feel the excitement of the drivers and spectators watching as the powerboats fly by! More than 50 boats participated in Wednesday’s World Championship event. The action continues today and Sunday, Nov. 14th, with leading American and International teams competing in the high-speed races.
